It's been a little while, but the Salvage Sisters are back and ready for action. We found this tall boy dresser in decent condition - besides the obvious, there was some good ol' 1980's contact paper stuck all over the drawer bottoms, but we saw past it's flaws & turned this functional piece of furniture into something fabulous!
We really think this piece is perfect for any space, whether it be in a kids bedroom, adult bedroom, or even in a mud room because it has such great storage.
We decided to go with Country Chic Paint in "Icicle". It's such a soft, pale blue & adds a little touch of cheer to anything we grace with it's color! Check out the Country Chic Pinterest board for more inspiring photos using Icicle!
We started off with a single coat, lightly sanded with 220 grit to smooth out any brush strokes we may have created & then one more final coat. To seal and protect it, we used Country Chic Paint Hemp Oil.
Oh! and a little something extra on this one...We came across this "designer" paper and instantly fell in love with it. So, we tore off the back board of the dresser, decoupaged the paper on it, & nailed it back on. What's not to love when it's black & white buffalo plaid? It's subtle, but definitely adorable! The Salvage Sisters love buffalo plaid so be prepared for more of it in the near future!
We feel like any little special touch that can be added to an otherwise average piece, really makes it stand out above the others!
We think this tall boy turned perfectly - don't you?
Until next time,
Stacy & Julie
